Dough Mama Announces Plans for Second LocationPhoto by Anne Evans

Dough Mama is doubling down on High Street. The bakery and cafe will open its second location later this summer at 730 S. High St. in the Brewery District.

“We realize we are taking a huge risk opening at this time, but we’re hopeful that in the long run this will be a great second location for what we do,” a social media post announcing the plans said.

Dough Mama opened its first brick-and-mortar location at 3335 N. High St. in Clintonville in late 2015. The bakery previously had other expansions plans in the works. Dough Mama was announced as one of the first vendors for North Market Bridge Park. However, the business announced last month it was no longer pursuing those plans due to the financial hardship of being closed for several months, but teased they would have an exciting announcement in the near future.

Dough Mama’s second location will see an expanded menu that includes dinner and more coffee options.

The operation is taking over the former home of Kolache Republic, which closed its stand-alone location after seven years. Kolache Republic will soon be making a comeback on the street though, moving in with The Daily Growler at 702 N. High St.

The businesses join a growing hub of location operations populating several blocks of South High Street. Also recently announced, Emmett’s Cafe will be opening down the street at 744 S. High St. this fall.

Dough Mama is aiming for an August opening.
