Touting hammers, nails and cocktails, Makers Social is gearing up for its Grand Opening Week later this month. The DIY crafting meets cocktail concept will celebrate its opening January 28 – February 2 at River & Rich, 461 W. Rich St. in Franklinton.
Offering 25 plus projects, crafters-slash-imbibers can make reservations or walk-in. The next one to three hours, depending on the complexity of the project, will be spent making leather flask covers and clutches, to pet dining tables, concrete coasters and more.
For the craft-averse, Makers Social’s bar is open. Owner Meg Pando says that unlike her other concept, Studio 614 in Old North, not everyone in a group has to participate. Instead, they can order cocktails like the Home Improvement, You Know the Drill and Moscow Tool. There’s a hefty bourbon selection, too, and local craft beer, which is also available in six-packs for carryout.
For the next few weeks, Makers Social will be doing some soft opening test runs. Parties of five or more can make reservations to get a sneak peek. When it’s business as usual, the space will be open from 4:30 – 11 p.m. weeknights, and 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. on the weekends.
